He is known primarily for playing nervy, slightly-unhinged characters, and is best known for his roles in the films Blue Velvet, Hoosiers, Speed, Apocalypse Now and Easy Rider and as the voice of Steve Scott in the video game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.
